Sweeden considering 4-lane cycling superhighway

Sweeden doesn't have quite the reputation for cycling culture than many other European cities enjoy, but they are still forward thinking about their cycling infastructure.

The central government is considering a protected cycling highway from Malmö—the country's third-largest city—to Lund, a distance of about 12.5 miles.

The path would have two lanes in each direction, be sheilded from the wind by hedges or low fences and have no intersections, only exits like a automobile highway. The cost is expected to run about $7 million.
