Dirt Rag World Tour: Women's Weekend at Ray's MTB
By Amanda Zimmerman
Crazy as it is, we are sewing together issue #134 for your future enjoyment and simultaneously, bundling ourselves up (it's pretty cold out there) and packing up to head for Cleveland and the Dirt Rag Women's Weekend at Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park.
Since this is primarily a women's event, Karen, I (Amanda) and long time Dirt Rag friend Elizabeth Klevens will be spearheading this weekend, and maybe a few of the Dirt Rag menfolk will stop by and visit on Saturday and Sunday. Here's a breakdown on what is in store for visitors:
Friday during the day, Ray will be having professional clinics set up for women riders of all levels of expertise. Subaru will be feeding us lunch. Guys, sorry, you'll have to wait until late Friday to access the Park. Then Friday night we'll have a musical hoedown courtesy of Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival and Pabst Blue Ribbon beverages. On Saturday and Sunday the park will be open for everyone, but gals...you don't have to pay a nickel to use the park. We'll also have women-specific demo bikes from GT, Giant, and Trek, and giveaways from the likes of SRAM and Dirty Girls.
Another worthy note: WTB is graciously donating premium schwag in the form of some ideal bike park tires (see photo) for any new or renewal subscribers this weekend. Be sure and stop by the Dirt Rag booth and sign up.
Should be a packed weekend and I am looking forward to showing off my new Trek 6000. Not a fancy machine, but clean lines and my first official mountain bike. I think it's up to the challenge.
We look forward to seeing you there!
