"The goal of peopleforbikes.org is to gather a million names of support, to speak with one powerful voice—to let policy makers, the media and the public know that bicycling is important and should be promoted."

First Impressions: Salsa Vaya

It was a beautiful, sunny July morning when I set off on my ride to work on a brand new Salsa Vaya test bike. The sun's rays picked up tiny gold flecks of color of the rich "Upside Brown" painted frame. I felt like I could ride all day, and I wished that I could.

Zero's Last Ride

I'm going home to bury my best riding buddy. She's been with me for over 10 years. She absolutely loved to go for rides. Just say the word "ride" and she was prancing in anticipation. In the van or truck she'd go. Queen she was. She couldn't restrain herself when she'd see me put my helmet on. She would start to jump and yip—and off we'd go. Rain, snow, hot, cold...it didn't matter...it was her favorite thing to do. She was as clueless as they come when it came to playing any other doggie games, but there was none better when it came time to ride.

A French Highway to Hell (Part 2)

Just to echo pretty much everything Ed said, this ride is a brute. After finishing up at the pizza restaurant we got chatting to a bunch of guys who'd driven over from Plymouth, and I ventured the opinion that the ride wasn't quite as tough as the media make it out to be. They must have thought I was a complete tool! Respect to the postie in their group who had to be on his bike at 5am on Monday for his round!

Colorado Peace Ride

The route, billed as "cycling heaven" will wind its way along four passes topping 10,000 feet, promises larger-than-life views and will reward riders with some amazingly sweet descents.

Denver Launches Citywide Bicycle Sharing Program

The 40th anniversary of Earth Day was a little bit extra special in Denver last week, as the city officially launched the first large-scale bike-sharing program in the United States. As of April 22nd, residents and visitors in Denver now have the ability to commute on one of 400 red Trek B-cycles available at 40 "B-stations" around the city. Within two months, the city plans to expand the program to include at least 500 bikes and 50 stations.
