2011 Dirt Rag / Bicycle Times World Tour

North American Handmade Bicycle Show

February 25-27 | Austin

We had a great time in Austin for the annual gathering of all things custom. We'd like to give a shout-out to show founder Don Walker for having us, and to Continental tires for hooking us up with some swag to give away in our booth. Thanks yinz!

Plus, check out our full coverage of the event here.

National Bike Summit

March 8-10 | Washington D.C.

Bicycle Times editor Karen Brooks was at the Summit on behalf of Dirt Rag and Bicycle Times. Now is the time for the cycling community to ask Congress to make strategic transportation investments that foster healthy people and healthy communities. Keynote speakers included Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation Janette Sadik-Khan.

You can read Brooks' coverage of the Urban Press Camp where she saw the latest products from Cannondale and Schwinn, tried out the Capital Bikeshare program and got to do some socializing, of course.

Seattle Bike Expo

March 12-13 | Seattle

Our "West Coast Bureau" - namely Maurice - made the trek to Seattle for the largest public bike show in the Western Hemisphere, with more than 250 booths featuring bikes, gear, travel and fitness. We gave away Kleen Kanteen bottles with each subscription signup. Hope you could make it out!

Sea Otter Classic

April 14-17 | Monterey, Calif.

There's racing, riding, bike shows and expos. You'll find it all at Sea Otter, the biggest bike event in the dirt world. If you're there, stop by and say hello at our booth where we'll have plenty of swag for sale.

Plus, if you purchase a subscription while you're there, you'll get your choice of cool goodies from Continental or Planet Bike.

From Continental you can grab one of the awesome Mountain King tires. The open tread pattern of the Mountain King hook’s-up in soft/loose conditions like none other, while the beefy 2.4 footprint and voluminous casing soak-up the rough stuff!

From Planet Bike, you'll get your choice of the new Superflast Turbo rear blinky or the Spok LED front light. The Superflash Turbo features one full watt of power through two LEDs, making it twice as strong as the already-bright Superflash.

If you can't make it, keep checking back online and in print for complete coverage.

Thank you to our sponsors
